Erasure, England's sensational synth pop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Tabernacle Atlanta!
Erasure was formed in London (England) in 1985 and is a duo consisting singer and songwriter Andy Bell along with songwriter and keyboardist Vince Clarke. Over the years their musical style has spanned many genres such as synth pop (a sub genre of new wave music that rose to prominence in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument), new wave (a genre of rock music that moved away from smooth blues and rock and roll sounds to create pop music that incorporated electronic and experimental music, mod, and disco), house (an electronic music style that began in Chicago in the early 80, characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats, rhythms mainly provided by drum machines, off-beat hi hat cymbals, and synthesized basslines), and alternative dance (a genre that blends the melodic song structure of alternative and indie rock with electronic beats, synths and/or samples, and club orientation of post disco dance music). They’ve had a stellar career with 17 studio albums, 5 live albums, 8 compilation albums, 7 extended plays, 41 singles, 43 music videos, 13 video albums, and 2 tribute albums. They've also won a Brit Award for Best British Group.
