Seether South Africa’s sensational alternative metal artists are bringing their electrifying sounds to the Tabernacle Atlanta!
The band was formed in Johannesburg (Gauteng, South Africa) in 1999 and it currently consists of Shaun Morgan (lead vocals, guitars), Dale Stewart (bass guitar, backing vocals, acoustic guitar), and John Humphrey (drums, percussion), and Clint Lowery (lead guitar, backing vocals) as a touring member. While their musical style can be broadly classified as alternative metal, it’s best described as a blend of post grunge (a derivative of grunge music that uses the sounds and aesthetics of grunge, but with a more commercially accessible tone), nu metal (a form of alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, and grunge), and hard rock. They cite Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Deftones, and Nine Inch Nails as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 7 studio albums (3 of which have been certified Gold and 1 has gone Platinum), 2 compilation albums, 1 video album, 15 music videos, 4 extended plays, and 18 singles. They’ve received many accolades including an MTV Africa Music Award (for Best Alternative Artist), South African Music Award, a Mediabase Award, and many others. Their latest album (Poison the Parish) comes out in May 2017.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to alternative metal!
