The Dirty Heads

27th October 2017 - Friday 20:00

The Dirty Heads, California sensational alternative hip-hop and ska punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Tabernacle Atlanta!

Dirty Heads was formed in 2003 when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) and his friend rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J) decided to work together on creating music full of positive vibes and infectious grooves. Jared provided vocals and they recruited percussionist Jon Olazabal to form an acoustic-trio-version of Dirty Heads. They began playing shows, building an audience, and their hard work got the attention of Rob Cavalla (renowned music producer who’s worked with the likes of Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, Paramore, Kid Rock, and many more). He got them a record deal with Warner Brothers but they left the label due to artistic differences. They were able to keep most of the material they recorded with them and they went on to complete their debut album (Any Port in a Storm). It was released in 2008 and featured guest appearances by renowned artists such as Beatles collaborator Billy Preston, Josh Freese (drummer for The Vandals and session drummer for Nine Inch Nails and Korn), Peruvian jazz percussionist Alex Acuna, legendary guitarist Slash, and many more. The band cites Sublime and The Black Keys as their main influences and their latest album (Dirty Heads) comes out in July 2016.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists blend hip-hop, reggae, and rock along with laid-back Southern California attitude!
